The Hidden Highlands - Iceland Adventure.
This adventure takes us into the incredible landscape of the Highlands of Iceland. Starting from Reykjavik, this 12-day trip goes deep into the interior of Iceland, the so-called Highlands. Hidden because this part of Iceland is difficult to reach for tourists and requires extreme routes.
We stay in so-called cabins and bungalows, wooden huts in the middle of nowhere with a cosy atmosphere. We cook our own food and a support car brings our equipment and spare parts to the overnight points.
On the stages we are completely on our own and master all the difficulties as a team.
This tour lasts 12 days, during which we are on the road for 10 days and stay in different accommodations. The accommodations in the Highlands are simple, but clean and modern and have their own kitchens in which our chef spoils us with homemade meals in the evening.
The total distance covered is around 1,400 km, we drive on light Enduros and in fully off-road 4x4s.
A once in a lifetime adventure in a unique landscape that you can only find in Iceland. Someone once said he was certain that the moon landing was filmed here.

This day is planned as a warm-up and to get to know the terrain, with the participants having to pass a fitness and riding technique test on the rocky Kings Trail behind Reykjavik. Perfect for getting into the right group. The destination is Gulfoss, where we will also spend the night.
This is the last day we spend in the hotel and enter the wild landscape of Iceland, where we cross countless rivers and streams and are on our own for long stretches. Our destination are the cabins in Hekla.
On this day we take it a little more leisurely and drive to a natural geyser where we take a relaxing bath. The length of the day's stage can be varied; we will decide this after the bath in the volcanically heated pool.
On this day we will enter the rough Highlands and reach the Setur Mountain.
Today wewe discover the so called "mystical wilderness in the heart of Iceland's Higlands" staying in the comfy cabins in Kerlingarfjöll.
This day we explore the nature reserve between the two large volcanoes in the middle of Iceland. The region is called HVERAVELLIR, a word that is difficult for us to spell. A stop at the famous old pool is a must and we will not miss it.
The Hveravellir nature reserve is one of the last great wilderness areas in Europe.
Out of the Highlands and back to the Cabins from where we started the Highland Expedition.
After the long and strenuous stages in the Highlands, we rest in the cabins that day. If you feel like it, you can explore the area on the motorbike and maybe take a bath in the hot spring that we already knew from a few days ago; it relaxes and is good for the muscles.
Back to civilization After days in the cabins and bungalows, it's good to be back in a hotel although we will miss the adventure outside.
The last stage takes us back to the starting point in Reykjavik on the 10th day. It's incredible how quickly time passes in this incredibly impressive landscape. We will tell our grandchildren about this trip.
Transfer to the Airport Reykjavik and good bye Iceland.
